A Religious Cartoon -- too funny!

Good Read of The Month

Very short read and I know because I read it already. Gives some insight on the religion and women in the religion. I learned from reading this book that before the Islamic law that women had more than one husband -- interesting right!

God Made Moms To Teach Their Children That...God is Real!

We all have had our days of disappointments and denials and we tend to wonder or question if God is listening, observing, or even if He exist. Ponder, question, or doubt no longer. God is indeed real. How do you know? Didn't He wake your mind and body this morning? Did the sun rise and set on yesterday? Does the weather change at our will or His will? Did He do the impossible in your life or someone close to you life? There are so many questions that can go unanswered about God just has there are some many questions that God in his omnipotent power can answer. So rest in knowing that God is real today just like he was yesterday and millions of years ago. Grow in your knowledge of God and in the freedom this knowledge offers. Work on and develop your relationship with God. It's not in the religion(s) we practice, it's in the personal relationship we have with Him. So if you have ever questioned if God is real, check your pulse. Because many no longer have that God-given pulse or the chance to question if he's real or not.

Hebrews 2:10 In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

God Made Moms to Teach Their Children...Have Patience

This morning's tidbit is about having patience with your friends. A tidbit really needed for myself. Instead of being angry, heated, frustration, or short tempered with friends let it slide. Keep the blood pressure down by shaking the frustration off. If they do or say something you don't like, let them know in a calm and peaceful voice -- that in itself may tell them enough. Be honest about your dislikes or disappointments. Keep it real but show them love and patience by not losing your patience with them. We all need His grace and mercy just like our friends need our patience.

Be blessed, encouraged, and patient today, it's a choice. ~ Delphine

Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.

A Movies to See - PUSH based on a novel by Sapphire

The film was written by Damien Paul and based on Sapphire’s 1996 book. The story concerns Precious Jones (Sidibe), a high school girl who is pregnant for the second time with her own father’s child. Illiterate and overweight, she is tormented by her classmates as well as by her abusive family. Her mother (Mo’Nique) uses emotional and physical means to keep her daughter imprisoned in her current environment. Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire explores how Precious finds a way to overcome her seemingly no-win situation.

God Made Moms To Teach...Only God Can Change People

I read on a church's billboard this weekend that "change is sometimes difficult but often essential for survival" and it made me cry. What made me cry was recognizing the process of change and acknowledging that any change can be the determinant of rather you live or die. I had thoughts of my past life and decisions, thoughts of my loved ones lives, and thoughts of our newly elected President. Do we realize that during the presidential campaign we all hoped and prayed for change but are we ready to make those difficult steps toward change. Changes that will enable us to survive a recession or depression. Changes that deliver a new way of living. Ladies, change starts in our own homes with our own families. I thought on how I had asked and prayed for change in my life and of course people closest to me. I've witness that change take place in me, change in my heart, change in my thoughts, change in my actions, and change in how I respond to others. It hasn't been easy but I see the positives in the change I prayed for. I also realize that the change that takes place in me may only make an impact on others to change, not change them because the only one able to change others is God above.

God Made Moms To Teach Their Children That...By Reading A Little More You Learn A Lot More

I am a person who likes to read and one that tries to promote reading. Our children need to see us reading and learning more, it encourages and fosters a habit of reading and learning for them. Reading has always been one of life's essentials, well life as we know it. So it comes as no surprise how much we can learn by just reading a little a day. We can learn something new just by reading a local newspaper, a weekly commentary, old periodicals, the bible, a memoir, an ejournal or even a blog. We all benefit from reading, so lets start encouraging our children and others to prosperous and grow by reading beyond what's required of us to read. Reading is indeed FUNDAMENTAL but leisure reading is a great stress reducer and can be a great conversation piece. "Let's get it" as the young folk say -- in layman's term that means let us get with the program that is proved to work for us.

Be blessed and encouraged, it your choice. ~ Delphine

Proverbs 3:13-14 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding
for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.

Proverbs 4:5-7 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
