Ray Scott's It All Belongs To You

I know you guys recall me sending you a link of Ray's website announcing his upcoming concert and his future album release. Well here's a video clip showing a portion of his recent concert. I've known Ray for some years now, he is my homeboy and he's happily married to one of my best friends (Twyla). Show Ray Scott some love by viewing his YouTube video and by ordering his album. A little bird also told me one of his song is getting some regular radio time in Jacksonville. Blessings to Ray and his family.

Peace.

Good Read of the Month

I read this book a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. The author has published a second book I plan on reading but I wanted this one to be the "Good Read of the Month" selection. I'm also attaching a video of her story, watch it when you get a chance. Also I'm still reading Sister Souljah's new book Midnight. It is a thick book but it usually doesn't take me as long but I've been busying. It's a great read as well but I know some of you have already read it, so once I'm done let's make plans to discuss. I look forward to it.

God Made Moms To Teach Their Children....Prayer Changes Things.

Listening to the radio this morning I pondered on how prayer really changes things. I have seen many of my prayers answers so it encourages me to pray about small things as well as big things. You can bring anything before the throne of God. Below are personal testimonies of things prayer changed for me.
I've prayed for a peaceful mind/spirit in a work office full of chaos and witnessed God change me - prayer changes things/people/situations.
I've prayed a prayer of protection for a wayward child and witnessed God protect my eldest son - prayer changes things/people/situations.
I've prayed for a sane mind in the middle of depression and witnessed God change my mood - prayer changes things/people/situations.
I've prayed for increase and witnessed God stretch my resources - prayer changes things/people/situations.
I've prayed for wisdom and witnessed God's guidance in my life - prayer changes thing/people/situations.

And lastly, many prayed for clear weather for the Inauguration on last week and it snowed west of DC, it snowed north of Dc and it snowed south of DC but not in Washington DC. As a matter of fact, it's snowing in DC today - a whole week later. Believe you me that prayer changes things.

James 5:16 (NIV) Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Few Pictures From DC

Taken on Independence Avenue and Maryland Avenue while Obama was being sworn in. I have a video of it but I'm having a hard time uploading it.

In front of the Washington Monument. Security was tight, the guys behind us was ready for anyone or anything that jumped off!

On the National Mall during the Pre-Inaugural Concert, Tom Hanks was on stage. Mary J had just tore it up for us!
On our way to the Air and Space Museum and saw this DC sightseeing bus. True tourist picture.

Washington DC is great for the kids, the Smithsonian Museums house a lot of history. Be warned you need more than a couple of days to visit them all.

Kids Playing in Snow

Idris and Femi's first time playing in snow. Driving back from DC, we stopped in North Carolina and had a blast.

We're Back From DC

This is a picture of the Egberongbe Family near the Lincoln Memorial on MLK Day. Our trip, our journey to Washington DC was beyond wonderful. Just to be among so many beautiful people was an amazing experience in itself. We spent four days in DC, enjoying all we could.

Not Easily Broken

Forgive me for sleeping on TD Jake's new movie. This week as been crazy. I didn't get the chance to see this one yet, I usually do opening day but I had a sick husband last week. My girlfriend Cassandra saw it and said it is the movie to see. Sounds like a good date movie for husbands/wives and a even better movie for mothers/daughters. Based on what I heard about the movie I need to hurry up and take my momma - sorry momma.

Take Part In The Inauguration Celebration

Many will be making the trip to Washington DC for the inaugural celebration but you don't have to be in DC to take part in celebrating our new president. Watch this message from our newly elected president for celebration ideas. I ask that you pray for those traveling to take part in the festivities, my family and I will be one. Also pray that God-given wisdom and strength be upon Obama in his new endeavor as our President.

God Made Moms To Teach Their Children...There Are People Mentioned In The Bible Who Look Just Like Them

After watching some very strong videos on the web, I started pondering what I have been taught and know about Christianity. One day while talking at work, I posed a question to one of my co-workers, who I have learned is quite knowledgeable of Christianity and other religions. My question was how do we know who was black in the bible? And how do we know that Christianity is the religion for black folk to follow when they don't mention black folk in the bible? I do not want to appear simple nor do I consider myself a racist but we all are aware of slavery. I just have questions that go beyond the images I've seen of Adam, Noah, and Jesus. I do realize that there was a lot of intermingling/interbreeding going on but I want to really be able to connect with those in the bible who would be recognized as a black man or woman. Anyway she answered, you continue to study the bible and begin to study the origins and the history of the people mentioned. I told her I do study the bible but not in the dept that I am able to answer my own questions.(I'm real bright huh) I also said I want to know without a doubt that I'm serving God by recognizing and practicing the religion I've grown accustom to. Well let me tell you, God has a sense of humor when he deals with His children. In church on Sunday the visiting minister gave a message on Midian, a child of Abram (Abraham), Midian who was known as a black man , just as Moses, Ham, Ziporah, Jethro, Bathsheba, and the list goes on. Midian is the only one whose descendants, the Midianites, are adequately identified. The others probably mixed with the various descendants of Ishmael, Lot and Esau to become the modern Arabic peoples. The minister also said that most men or churches don't want to admit it but if we're to study the origins and the countries of those mentioned in the bible we would definitely know that there were a lot of black folk occupying and governing the lands mentioned in the bible. I also found out that's how Moses, Mary & Joesph, and even Jesus blended in or got lost in Egypt, you only blend in when you look like those around you. Many went to Egypt for escape because they could blend-in. Ladies, I'm excited to know that I have more history in the bible then what I've heard in the past. I look forward to finding out more when it comes to black folk in the bible.

God Made Moms To Teach Others To...Make No Promise Your Not Going To Keep

Happy New Year Ladies. My blog is a year old and Tuesday Tidbits is going into it's second year. The tidbit for today is short, say "yes" if you mean "yes", and "no" if you mean "no", too many of us get away with making promises we know we are not going to keep or even try to keep. New Year Resolutions are always broken right after the first few days and promises we make to our children, get forgotten by us but remembered by our children. So do your best this year to make no promise your not going to keep. We need to make promises carefully.

Be blessed and encouraged today, it's your choice. ~ Delphine
