God Made Moms To Teach Their Children....In All Your Getting, Get Understanding.
Good Morning Ladies, I had the pleasure of attending my son's girlfriend's high school convocation on last night. I must tell you that these kids are much brighter and much more mature than the kids I remember in school unless I was just one of the less bright and less mature kids. These scholars amazed me as the school administrators announced their grade point averages, their scholarship offers, and all their other academia accolades. There was a student who had already accumulated 15 college credits, another who had received a full scholarship to Harvard, another who had received a full scholarship to Stanford, and the class salutatorian had never had any grade less than a "A" and this was just to name a few. These young people are our future leaders, brown and pink skin alike. As I listened to them announce all the different and difficult fields these kids would be studying, like Bio-Med, Pre-Med, Law, Physics, Pharmacy and Engineering. I was like wow! I tell you these kids have more than just wisdom, they have the understanding of what it takes to make it in these fields and will be very successful in their fields because of all their previous knowledge and efforts. Everything that they have been taught in preschool, elementary, and middle has helped them to get where they are in high school and will help them expand/extend all that they know into what they will need to know in college and for their lives after college. In closing the class president told the audience that A's are not given for effort, A's are given as the results of your efforts. This young lady planted a seed in many lives last night, what a legacy the Class of 2008 leaves for Lincoln High School. So my tidbit for today is in all of our getting, let us to be sure to get understanding.
Be blessed and encouraged today, it's your choice. ~ Delphine
