God Made Moms To Teach Their Children....Things Are Not Always Equal But Should Always Be Fair.

I was having a conversation with a friend a few weeks back and shared with her how I felt my mom showed more favor when it came to helping my brother, meaning she has and always is doing more for him than what she has or does for me. I told my friend I would never be that way with my boys, I love them the same and would treat them equally the same. My friend responded with something similar to this " it's better to be fair than equal because the need(s) may never be same ". Her response put things in prospective for me as a daughter and as a mother. Everyone has different need levels, so how can the meeting of the needs be equal? It can never be equal but it should always be fair. I encourage you in being fair when it comes to your children and I also encourage you to teach your children early that being fair always overrides being equal.
